They build an igloo village with about 5 or 6 igloos. There are some elders who have been sleeping in them all week. If you want, you could put your name on a list and sleep in one of the igloos overnight.

This was one of the igloos. It looks like two from the outside but they are joined together. They had a coleman stove heating the inside and it was very warm.

Hi,
I am very curious about Igloolik and I would love to go there. Your blog is very interesting, and the picture with the harnessed pups is of special personal interest to me. It shows Simon with his pups. My dog is a littermate to some of the pups on the pictures. I got him from Simon, just a month before that picture was taken. I also have another Inuit Sled Dog from Igloolik that Maren helped me acquire.
